The Business Challenge

Key elements in J&J’s Production targets are predefined for the entire product line and machines. As per the targets, jobs are scheduled for the Employee and Machines. Performance Index for the Employee is calculated based on the Actual v/s Planned. Based on the Performance Index the incentives for the employees are calculated and disbursed. Currently this system is operated manually.

J&J needed a system to replace the existing paper based information flow that consisted of forms that were manually collected and assessed by Supervisor and Manager.

The Solution

Webify developed a Web Service based application that facilitated standardizing the process to monitor and track the Performance of Man and Machine. This enables accurate Incentive disbursement to the employees.

Johnson & Johnson strengthens ties with its family of workers, employees and management through a web-based application created by Webify Services (India) Pvt. Ltd. (Webify). The benefits of improved information flow, faster Incentive calculation and disbursement by standardizing and parameterization of the process of Performance Index for all workers, operating in six divisions at their Mulund manufacturing plant.

The Business Challenge

From experience, Johnson & Johnson Ltd. (J&J) knows that ERP is a transaction-oriented system, which focuses on the core business areas viz. Manufacturing, Material Management, and Finance etc. Johnson and Johnson wanted to track and monitor the performance of Man and Machine that is excluded from the ERP solution deployed in their organization.

Performance Index for the Employee is calculated based on the Actual vs. Planned. Based on the Performance Index the incentives for the employees are calculated and disbursed. Currently this system is operated manually.

Johnson & Johnson awarded a contract to Webify for developing an online solution that could make this process quicker, more efficient, accurate, and facilitate information sharing with the Head Office Pay roll System and HR System.

·         Online calculators that helped Management to determine the efficiency and productivity for the Man and Machine

·         Gathering of information on Machines downtimes, which will ease in decision making for quick corrective action

·         Tracking of Employee transfers

·         Tracking of Productivity and Efficiency

·         Presentation of data online to the management for decision-making.

·         Status flags that indicated whether the assessment had been validated.

·         Integration of the incentive data with the pay roll system at Head Office using Web Services technology for incentive disbursement along with the pay check

·         Integration of performance index data with the HR system at Head Office using Web Services Technology

·         Development of an enterprise level layer on which other business systems can be built in future
