inception, ICICI Prudential Life has emerged as the Number One private
sector insurance provider in India. True to its market facing and
customer centric business practices, ICICI Prudential Life provides a
variety of services to its customers and agents. Distributing a fortnightly
commission statement is one such service. True to its position as the
Number One private sector insurance company in India, ICICI Prudential
Life, found that the number of commission statements grew month over month
and the manual process of printing & physical distribution of the
commission statements was more tedious, time consuming and some times prone
to human errors in distribution. Over and above this, the process of
printing through an application that ran from an IBM AS/400 platform added
to the resource requirement. ICICI Prudential Life,
decided to publish the commission statements over the web for their agents
to access their commission earned details on-line, at their convenience. ICICI Prudential Life chose Webify
Services (India) Pvt. Ltd. (Webify) to develop this solution for them. Webify provided a solution
that was based on Service Oriented Architecture, to
ICICI Prudential Life. Keeping in mind the policy
restrictions at ICICI Prudential Life’s exposing applications, Webify
developed a solution that will access the commission statements from the
AS400 system at ICICI Prudential Life using XML messaging and then
published these commission statements on the Web for password-protected
access by each agent. This ensured a non-invasive solution that was both
quick and that leveraged existing investments on infrastructure by ICICI
Prudential Life. ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. (ICICI
Prudential Life) prints commission statements once every 15 days and
physically distributes to 100s of their agents that book insurance policies
for ICICI Prudential Life. With growing business and the ever-increasing number
of individual commission statements, manual operations proved time consuming
and manpower intensive. ICICI Prudential Life decided to automate this process
of intimating their agents on the commission earned by publishing the
commission statements on the web. Webify Services (I) Pvt. Ltd. developed a Web services
based solution that accessed the commission statement details from ICICI
Prudential Life’s AS 400
